2022 FIFA World Cup Stadium, Qatar

Sasidaran, a mechanical engineering alumnus of our institute has been consistently elemental and devoted in his work, bringing pride to our college. He played a key role in the construction of the Lusail Iconic, football Stadium, Qatar a “Design and Build” project consisting of an 80,000-seat stadium that will *host both the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2022 FIFA World Cup*. Using his on-field experience, he is the core structural engineer in the construction of the stadium’s outer shell, which consists of huge 40m high curving steel V-frames supported on 24 no. 25m high plinths. The V-frames support a 4m deep compression ring that uses cables to hold the roof structure in place, *forming the world’s largest membrane roof structure.* The well-constructed stadium, in which Sasidaran played a Pivotal role, is currently inscribed in 10 riyals the currency notes of Qatar. His achievements has made all of us Proud.
